GOOD NEWS: You Won’t Believe What Orji Uzor Kalu Said About Angela Merkel’s Historic Visit To Nigeria
Abuja, Nigeria Good News 31st August, 2018: Ex-Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has said that the visit of German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, has proven that Nigeria is progressing economically.
He said this in a tweet on Friday, saying that President Muhammadu’s administration has gained global attraction.
He said: “The historic official visit of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel to our dear country Nigeria is a true attestation that the economic recovery&anti corruption policies of the administration of President Buhari @MBuhari under the APC @APCNigeria has gained a global attraction.
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday received the vising German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
German leader, who is concluding her tour of three West African countries, arrived Aso Rock at about 10.02a.m.
President Buhari, who welcomed the German Chancellor at the fore court of the Presidential Villa, introduced some members of his cabinet and presidential aides to his visitor before going into closed door meeting to deliberate on issues of mutual interest to both Nigeria and Germany.

Merkel is on her final leg of a three-day trip to Senegal, Ghana and Nigeria with a focus on strengthening economic development and containing illegal migration.
In her remarks at the meeting, Merkel said: “Germany is prepared to further strengthen bilateral and business relations with Nigeria’’ which, according to her, controlled 60 per cent of ECOWAS economy.
The German Chancellor said the population growth and opportunities in the economy could always be explored to improve the employment situation in the country.
Chancellor Merkel said the three Memoranda of Understanding signed during the visit represented a starting point for a healthier and deeper partnership with Nigeria in areas of security, trade, immigration and education.
The Federal Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Volkswagen of South Africa for the manufacturing of Volkswagen vehicles in Nigeria.
The Nigeria Incentive-based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL Plc) also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Petkus Technologies GMBH for the supply of seed and grain processing machines.
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with German African Business Association on fostering trade and investment.
